In our frestall barn live more than 35 horned cows and 25 young animals. The horns are very appreciated by the many walkers. They like the animal-friendly keeping and our proximity to the city. In addition to the cows, a few mother pigs and boars also live on the farm.
My wife Helen and I both grew up on a farm. As a trained carpenter I did some agriculture studies before we took over the farm from Helen’s parents. In nearby Waldkirch we have other buildings where the young animals graze in summer and enjoy the good quality grass of the southern slope. Our business activities include not only dairy farming and breeding, but also fruit growing.
More than 460 high-stem trees with sugar-sweet apples, pears, plums and cherries characterise the landscape. So much fruit gives a lot to do. Fortunately we can always count on the help of our three sons and friends. We even have a machine that helps us pick up the fruit and relieves our backs. We deliver many fruits directly to the cidermaker “Mosterei Möhl”. In the record year 2018, we collected no less than 70 tons of fruit. Depending on the season, we sell the sweet cider as well as the cherries and plums directly from the farm.
As the cider comes directly from the press and is not pasteurised, it is best to visit us from the beginning of September to the end of October. You can also buy fresh milk from us.
We are very pleased about your visit!
