The Ebneter organic farm is located in the beautiful canton of Valais. At the age of 17, I, Christian Kummer, bought my first own sheep and since then I have devoted myself to the farm with much love and dedication. Since the conversion to organic in 1998, cows have also been living on the farm. Through the expansion, important processes could be optimized and centralized. In order to offer the animals the best possible quality of life, almost exclusively feed produced on the farm is used today. The 22 hectares of land extend from 600 m above sea level to 1500 m above sea level and we can therefore guarantee that the cows and sheep receive 90% roughage, which corresponds to a species-appropriate diet for ruminants. The machinery used for farming is shared with the neighbouring organic farms in order to promote solidarity and improve the ecological balance.

Today, around 15 suckler cows with their 15 calves and 30 ewes with 2 rams live on the Ebneter organic farm. The mother animals are not milked, so that there is enough milk left for the young. While the animals spend the summer on the alp, they spend the winter in a free-range barn near the farm. This way they can freely decide whether they want to stay indoors or outdoors. The calves and lambs stay with their mothers until slaughter.

Because the welfare of the animals is very close to my heart, I regularly take part in events dealing with animal health based on homeopathy and alternative healing methods. The animals are slaughtered in the immediate vicinity of the farm in an official slaughterhouse under veterinary supervision. The butcher cuts and packs them properly. The organic meat is then professionally stored, vacuumed on site and sent to the customers.

Our offer includes lamb and veal in the form of mixed packages. From rearing to ready-to-ship products, all products are subject to Bio Suisse certification and therefore contain no artificial additives.
Lamb is available from June to December from mixed packages of 8 kilos.
Veal (Natura beef) is available from October to the end of January in mixed packages from 15 kilos upwards.
